With the new windows operating system coming out some have been hopeful that there might be some changes in the way everything is structured and programmed.

Although very hopeful against by many people, Windows 7 still has a registry. Many thought that this upgrade Microsoft might change it's ways since Apple's OSX and Linux work fine without this giant database called the registry. ActiveX controls are still in this new operating system as well even though thought unnecessary since complicated browser functions can happen without them.

The Windows 7 registry is much better now. It is more evolved but still is the same concept and still prone to the same errors and problems that previous versions of windows had. It is hard to get rid of the registry entirely because older applications which many businesses will expect to be able to use have dependencies in the registry. As time goes on the same problem with the computer having registry errors will cause problems to Windows 7 users.

There are quite a few tweaks for the windows 7 registry, but you should be careful about these at the moment. Some are from the older beta versions of Windows 7. Others are from more recent versions but you can't be certain what it will do to your machine good or bad.

Windows 7 will still have registry cleaners available for it. These will continue to help fix registry errors and problems.

Maybe one day windows won't have a registry to have these problems, but not with this new upcoming release.
